The Director of the Meteorology Department, Deputy Director Dharar Al-Ali, stated that the country experienced scattered light rainfall since Sunday morning, which is expected to continue in the coming days. The chances of rain will increase next Thursday, with occasional thunderstorms, accompanied by reduced horizontal visibility due to fog.
Al-Ali told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country is being affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system, coinciding with an upper-level low-pressure system. This combination leads to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds, accompanied by scattered light rainfall that may occasionally be thunderous.
He clarified that winds will be variable in direction, shifting to light to moderate southeasterly winds, with occasional strengthening in some areas. He noted that the chances of light rain will continue with varying intensity in the coming days.
He added that humidity will rise and persist throughout the week, with fog forming at night, particularly in coastal and agricultural areas, leading to reduced horizontal visibility. The chances of scattered rain will increase next Thursday, with occasional thunderstorms and increased wind activity.
Citizens and residents were urged to follow the weather bulletin via the Department’s official website, its mobile application, and its social media accounts to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
