Dr. Fadel Abbas Aziz, Acting Dean of Admissions and Registration at Kuwait University, announced that the submission of applications for admission to the university for the second semester of the 2026-2027 academic year will take place electronically between December 16 and 23, 2026. This applies to students who meet the admission criteria, including Kuwaiti nationals and citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, graduates of the Unified System and the Religious Institute, and graduates of American and English schools, as well as students expected to graduate from English schools, but only for graduates of Kuwaiti schools.
In a press statement, Aziz said that students from other admission categories can submit their admission applications at the Admissions and Registration Hall in the Sabah Al-Salem University City between December 20 and 23, 2026, during official working hours, according to the timeline provided in the attached schedule.
He clarified that admission to all university faculties for Kuwaiti students depends on the equivalent grade point average (GPA) specified for each major, which is calculated based on the results of academic aptitude tests and the secondary school certificate percentage, with the exception of the College of Science, where admission is based solely on the secondary school certificate percentage.
He added that the minimum required percentage for the secondary school certificate is 70% for the Scientific Section and 78% for the Literary Section, provided all other admission conditions are met. He emphasized that no admission applications with percentages below these minimum thresholds will be accepted.
Dr. Aziz explained that applications for categories eligible for electronic submission will be submitted through the electronic admission system page via the following link:

He clarified that the admission approval period specified in the timeline for Kuwaiti students applies only to graduates of American and English schools who submitted electronic admission applications. It does not apply to graduates of the Unified System and the Religious Institute, whose admission will be approved electronically without the need to visit the Admissions and Registration Hall.
He noted that results from the "TOEFL PBT," "TOEFL iBT," or "IELTS" tests may be used as a substitute for the English academic aptitude test when calculating the equivalent GPA, provided the results are submitted before the end of the application period.
He further stated that these results may also be used to exempt students from taking the preparatory course, provided they are submitted during the admission approval period and until the end of the first week of classes in the semester in which the student was admitted.
Dr. Aziz said that if a student is unable to access the system to submit an admission application, an electronic link containing instructions and guidelines will be displayed. He emphasized that university admission is conditional upon the accuracy of the submitted data.
Documents Required for Admission Approval
Students were urged to review their admission applications to determine the required documents based on the type of secondary school certificate and the admission category.
He stressed that the university reserves the right to cancel the admission of any student if the required documents are not submitted or if it is proven that the data on which admission was granted was inaccurate, in accordance with the Basic Rules of Admission and Transfer at Kuwait University.
Dr. Aziz pointed out that the minimum admission thresholds for Kuwaiti students with disabilities who meet the conditions are 65% for the Scientific Section and 72% for the Literary Section.
He clarified that these students must submit a valid disability certification issued by the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities, along with medical reports, and visit the Admissions and Registration Hall during official working hours to submit their admission applications for the second semester.
He added that students who achieved a score of 70 percent or higher in the scientific stream and 78 percent or higher in the literary stream can submit their applications electronically through the admissions system via the link mentioned earlier.
He noted that secondary school students in the English curriculum expected to graduate must submit their admission applications electronically within the specified deadlines, and then submit their final results to the Dean of Admissions and Registration within two working days from the date of their announcement, to determine their majors and complete their registration procedures in light of the minimum admission thresholds for the university, as announced in the attached schedule.
He emphasized that these students’ chances of admission are equal to those of their peers who completed their documents during the application submission period.
Aziz said that the period for submitting applications from students transferring from other universities and colleges of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, as well as members of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces and the National Guard, begins on December 13, 2026, and continues until January 14, 2027.
He added that the receipt of admission applications from scholarship students will take place between December 6 and December 24, 2026.
In conclusion, he called on applicants to review the instructions and guidelines published on the university’s website and to adhere to the announced deadlines for submitting admission applications and for admission confirmation. He stressed that no applications would be accepted after the expiration of the specified period, and wished all students success.
