- Construction, safety, hygiene, licensing, and advertising activities are included, along with enforcement measures against violators.

The Kuwait Municipality announced on Saturday the intensification of its field and inspection campaigns across all governorates of the country, to strengthen oversight of safety, hygiene, construction works, and service licenses for various activities, as well as all types of advertising, in accordance with applicable regulations and bylaws.

Mohammed Al-Sandan, Director of the Public Relations Department and official spokesperson for the Municipality, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the Safety Management Department’s teams would intensify their monitoring of safety and security requirements at construction and renovation sites, curb the dumping of debris, and take necessary action against non-compliant contractors.

He added that the campaigns would include inspections of storage facilities under various types of contracts to verify compliance with specified requirements, as well as intensified oversight of road obstructions and the removal of boats from squares, plazas, and public parking areas in service, craft, industrial, commercial, and investment zones.

Al-Sandan clarified that violators of the road occupation regulations would be required to park their boats in designated and permitted areas, while general hygiene teams would continue to monitor cleanliness levels, particularly in high-density areas, to reduce violations.

He noted that the Municipality’s services audit and follow-up teams would continue their oversight campaigns at public markets, including wholesale and retail markets, alongside inspections of health licenses for establishments across all their activities.

Al-Sandan commended the oversight role of national engineering staff in conducting technical audits and follow-ups on construction and building works, and ensuring the application of the Building Code and its requirements according to different uses, whether for private and model residences, or for service, investment, commercial, industrial, and craft buildings.
