- Nighttime chill ... with increased chances of rain and longer nights

The Al-Ajiri Scientific Center announced that the second mansab (lunar station) of the Al-Wasm season, known as “Al-Samak,” begins on Thursday, October 29, 2026, and lasts for 13 days, bringing with it a noticeable chill at night.

In a press statement, the center explained that the weather during this mansab is characterized by cool nights and humid winds at sunrise, along with longer nights. It noted that this period marks the earliest time for the Dhuhr (noon) prayer of the year.

The center added that a key feature of “Al-Samak” is the feeling of cold water, especially in the morning. It pointed out that earlier generations used the increase in sheep births as an indicator of the onset of this mansab, during which the chances of rainfall also rise.

The center highlighted that nights lengthen significantly during this period, with sunset occurring earlier, and urged the public to monitor prayer times and schedules via the Al-Ajiri app.
