US President Donald Trump affirmed that the war with Iran will end very soon, one way or another, stressing that Tehran will not succeed in prolonging it beyond the date of the US midterm congressional elections.
Trump said that Iranians hope to keep the war going past the midterms, but that will not happen, emphasizing that the war will end very quickly and that oil prices will plummet immediately upon its conclusion.
He added that his administration has done what previous US administrations and other presidents should have done regarding Iran for a long time.
Trump considered that what the United States pays represents an extremely small price to prevent Iran, which he described as “the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism,” from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
He stressed that his country is working to ensure that Iran does not possess a nuclear weapon at all.
