Three female taekwondo athletes from the Kuwait national team won three bronze medals in the junior category on Tuesday at the sixth Qatar International Taekwondo Championship held in Doha, the Qatari capital.

Ghala Al-Assaf secured a bronze medal in the under-69-kilogram weight class, while Al-Mask Al-Salem claimed bronze in the under-68-kilogram category. Luluah Al-Mahboob also won a bronze medal in the over-68-kilogram division.

National team coach Waleed Al-Murshed expressed his delight at the athletes’ achievement of winning three bronze medals at the Qatar championship, particularly given the strong participation from countries around the world. In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), he added that the three medals add to Kuwait’s record in the sport, noting that competing in such international tournaments, which feature many athletes from various countries, helps enhance players’ experience and equip them with additional skills to reach the podium.

The championship, organized by the Qatar Taekwondo, Judo, and Karate Federation, kicked off last Sunday and will continue until Wednesday, with approximately 1,152 athletes representing more than 46 countries across four age categories: cadets, juniors, youth, and seniors.
