Al-Arabi were eliminated from the group stage of the AFC Challenge League after suffering their second consecutive defeat in the competition, falling 2-0 to Tajikistan’s Istiklol in tonight’s match at the Central Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, in the second round of Group 2.
Al-Arabi had previously lost to Syria’s Al-Fayhaa Al-Homs 1-0 in the opening round, leaving them empty-handed and eliminating any hope of advancing. They will play their final match against Lebanon’s Al-Najma next Friday as a formality.
