The Sixth Circuit of the Administrative Court of Appeal ruled to reject the appeal filed by the Ministry of Education and upheld the first-instance court’s decision to annul the ruling that failed a student due to absenteeism, ordering the ministry to recognize her as having passed and to transfer her to the eighth grade.
Lawyer Badr Mohammed Al-Dalk said his client, a student at one of the middle schools for girls in the Ahmadi Educational Zone, was unable to attend remote classes during the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year due to technical issues that prevented her from accessing the “Teams” educational platform for nearly two months.
Al-Dalk explained that the Ministry of Education had adopted remote learning during that period due to regional circumstances, noting that the student was only able to use the platform last April and immediately resumed her academic obligations upon gaining access.
He emphasized that the student’s absence was not voluntary but resulted from technical circumstances beyond her control, adding that exceptional conditions prevented her from clarifying the problem she faced at the time.
