The Criminal Court, presided over by Advisor Dr. Khaled Al-Amira, sentenced an airport security employee to 15 years in prison and fined him 100,000 dinars after convicting him of possessing psychoactive substances with intent to traffic. The conviction followed his arrest upon his return from Egypt, where authorities found 1,903 drug capsules concealed inside children’s candy boxes.

The arrest was carried out based on investigations conducted by the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics, in cooperation with airport customs. Analysis results confirmed that the suspect had consumed drugs after his arrest.

In a separate case, the Court of Cassation, presided over by Advisor Abdullah Al-Abdullah, sentenced a security guard to four years in prison and fined him 1,000 dinars after convicting him of possessing cannabis without intent to traffic, consume, or use personally, as well as possessing methamphetamine and amphetamine with intent to consume, and smuggling prohibited substances into prison.

The court also ordered the confiscation of the seized narcotics and psychoactive substances.
