Minister of the Diwan Amiri Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali affirmed that supporting creative individuals, especially those with disabilities, is a national duty and a shared responsibility, emphasizing that culture and art are the best ambassadors for Kuwait and its people before the world.
This came during his visit to the visual artist Hassan Bahdah’s exhibition, “At the Heart of Kuwaiti Heritage,” at the Kuwait National Library, in the presence of the Acting Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, Muassad Mohammed Al-Zamil; Assistant Secretary-General for Cultural Affairs, Aisha Adnan Al-Mahmoud; and Advisor for Persons with Special Needs, Abdulrahman Al-Adwani.
Sheikh Hamad praised the efforts of the organizers of the exhibition, stressing the importance of highlighting the talents of people with disabilities and providing them with opportunities. He said, “You represent the civilized and cultural face of Kuwait,” reaffirming his support and backing for them.
For his part, Al-Zamil explained that Bahdah has been practicing visual arts for about 20 years, and that the Council’s Collection Committee, upon reviewing his paintings, believed them to be the works of major visual artists due to their high level of craftsmanship.
