Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa affirmed today, Sunday, the deep ties and historical friendship bonds uniting the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation, as well as the mutual commitment to continuing to strengthen and broaden their cooperation across all fields, in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of both countries and their peoples.
The Bahrain News Agency stated that this came during the Bahraini King’s reception of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who is visiting the Kingdom to participate in the ministerial meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Russian Federation.
The Bahraini King expressed his appreciation for the important role played by Russian President Vladimir Putin in strengthening the relations between the two countries, which are based on mutual respect and coordinated efforts, as well as for the positions taken by the Russian Federation and the sincere feelings of solidarity expressed by the Russian President toward the Kingdom of Bahrain in response to the recent reprehensible Iranian aggressions targeting the Kingdom’s territory. He also highlighted the vital role played by the Russian Federation on the international stage and its commitment to enhancing global security and peace.
The Bahraini King also conveyed his best wishes for the success of the ministerial meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Russian Federation, in order to enhance mutual cooperation for the benefit of both sides.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on prominent regional and international issues and events, as well as the efforts undertaken to enhance security, stability, and peace in the region, in the interest of its countries and peoples.
