- Al-Tineeb: We reject the displacement of Palestinians and call for a permanent ceasefire and the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

- Full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for its measures to protect its security and sovereignty... and a call to counter Islamophobia and hate speech.

The State of Kuwait expressed its strong condemnation today, Sunday, of the brutal practices of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, while reiterating its position firmly rejecting and strongly condemning the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militias against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This came in a statement by Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its Consul General in Jeddah, Yousef Al-Tineeb, during the 52nd meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers held in Baghdad.

Al-Tineeb stated that the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting “is taking place amid a serious escalation in the Palestinian issue, which faces systematic attempts to impose a new reality on the ground that ignores the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and constitutes a blatant violation of international resolutions and charters.”

He added, “The continuous Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, accompanied by a blockade, systematic destruction of infrastructure, forced displacement, deliberate targeting of civilians and hospitals, and the prevention of humanitarian aid delivery, constitutes a serious violation of the principles of international law and an attempt to impose a policy of fait accompli by force at the expense of the fixed, inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. We emphasize our firm rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people and our strong condemnation of the brutal practices of the Israeli occupation.”

He noted that the State of Kuwait “emphasizes the importance of reaching a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire, ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid, guaranteeing protection for civilians, providing safe corridors for displaced persons, and supporting efforts aimed at full recognition of the State of Palestine and enhancing its legal status in the United Nations and international forums.”

He also expressed “the State of Kuwait’s condemnation of the Republic of Colombia’s decision to open its embassy in the occupied city of Jerusalem, in a blatant violation of international law and relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council.”

He stated that “the State of Kuwait reiterates its firm position supporting the legitimate Palestinian rights, foremost among which is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.”

He called on “the international community, especially the Security Council, to assume its legal and humanitarian responsibilities and take serious action to stop this aggression and prevent attempts to impose a new reality through displacement and settlement.”

Regarding the situation in Yemen, Al-Tineeb said that “the State of Kuwait strongly condemns and denounces the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militias against the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which have resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians, damage to infrastructure, and attacks on airports, as well as attacks targeting Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, in a blatant violation and serious transgression of the principles of international law and Islamic and humanitarian values.”

He pointed out that “Kuwait affirms its full solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its standing by its side in all measures taken to safeguard its security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the protection of civilians and Islamic holy sites, stressing that the security and stability of the Kingdom constitute a fundamental pillar for the security and stability of the region.”

He also reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm and supportive stance toward the security and stability of member states, respecting their sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and rejecting the use or threat of force, in line with its commitment to the principles of international law and the UN Charter, and its belief in the importance of strengthening solidarity and cohesion among Islamic countries, prioritizing dialogue and peaceful solutions to consolidate the foundations of security and stability in the region and in the Islamic world.

He added that Kuwait emphasizes the importance of collective action within the Organization, which enhances our capacity to confront shared challenges and achieve the noble objectives for which the Organization was established.

In this context, he stressed the necessity of addressing Islamophobia and called for intensifying international efforts to halt hate speech and incitement against Islam and Muslims, and to protect religious freedoms within the framework of international law.

He commended the international initiatives and efforts undertaken to combat Islamophobia and promote a culture of tolerance and mutual respect among peoples, emphasizing the importance of continuing international coordination and cooperation to confront this phenomenon and counter all forms of religious intolerance, discrimination, and hatred.

Concluding his remarks, the head of the delegation invited member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to take practical and effective positions in defending Islamic peoples, safeguarding their rights, and protecting their sacred sites from threats, noting that “history does not forget, and our peoples are waiting and will accept nothing less than a genuine collective movement that reflects their aspirations, preserves their dignity, and safeguards their identity.”

Kuwait participated in the 52nd session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, represented by a delegation headed by the Ambassador, and including Advisor Turki Al-Daihani and Third Secretary Abdullah Al-Waqian.
