Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi affirmed that medical conferences enable experts to exchange perspectives and discuss scientific evidence, bridging research findings with daily practice, thereby enhancing the quality of medical decision-making and placing patient welfare at the core of care.
This came during his speech at the Ninth Scientific Conference of the Amiri Hospital, which he sponsored and attended. He welcomed the participating doctors, consultants, and researchers from Kuwait and abroad, as well as the conference guests from the Republic of India, wishing them a pleasant stay and a fruitful scientific participation.
Al-Awadi noted that the diversity of the conference topics underscores the importance of integrating medical specialties and collaborating among care teams. He emphasized that internal medicine, with its sub-specialties and precise disciplines, requires continuous coordination with other medical fields to address patient needs in a comprehensive and integrated manner.
He welcomed the participation of experts from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India, including the Institute’s Director, Professor Vivek Lal, and the Dean of Academic Affairs and Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Professor Sanjay Jain. He expressed hope that this participation would contribute to strengthening scientific communication and exchanging expertise among medical institutions.
He expressed pride in the Kuwaiti Board program in Internal Medicine and the specialized fellowship programs offered by the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialties, noting that they serve as a cornerstone for preparing national cadres, enhancing their knowledge and clinical skills, and developing their ability to make decisions and work within multidisciplinary teams.
He pointed out that Amiri Hospital’s achievement of Stage 6 in the Digital Maturity Model for implementing electronic health records, developed by the International Health Management Association (HIMSS), reflects progress in leveraging digital systems to support healthcare delivery.
In conclusion of his speech, he thanked the conference chair, Dr. Ousan Al-Mahini, the organizing committees, speakers, and participants, wishing the conference success and the guests to Kuwait a pleasant stay.
