The General Directorate of Traffic, represented by the Security Control Department, managed to apprehend a suspect for committing reckless and careless driving with his vehicle in the Al-Wafra Agricultural Area, after video clips documenting his violations were detected on social media platforms.
In a statement, the Traffic Department said the arrest was part of its efforts to monitor vehicles used for reckless driving on social media. A vehicle, previously documented as being used for such acts, was identified, prompting the setup of a tight ambush that resulted in the arrest of its driver and the seizure of his vehicle.
It added that the necessary legal procedures were taken against the suspect, who was handed over to the Central Prison, and his vehicle was impounded.
The department reaffirmed its continued monitoring and pursuit of individuals engaging in reckless and careless driving, and the imposition of deterrent legal measures against them, in order to safeguard road users’ safety and protect lives and property.
