The Court of Appeal’s State Security Division, presided over by Senior Judge Abdullah Al-Sanea and with Judges Mohammed Jafar and Hamad Al-Badr as members, issued several rulings in State Security cases. One of these rulings sentenced an Egyptian defendant to five years in prison after convicting him of membership in the terrorist “Daesh” (ISIS) organization and plotting to carry out bombing operations targeting Hussainiyas in Kuwait.
The defendant was charged with receiving training on the use of explosives and sticky bombs with the intent to harm the country’s national interests, planning to target places of worship, and openly insulting the Amir himself.
Security agencies, represented by the State Security Apparatus, arrested the defendant following investigations, surveillance, and monitoring that uncovered a plot to carry out a terrorist bombing. The arrest operation led to the discovery at his residence of devices and materials used in the manufacture of explosives, along with information and methods related to their preparation and use.
