Meta Launches Two AI Models, Describes Them as Most Efficient

Meta unveiled two new artificial intelligence models on Monday, named “Muse Wonder” and “Muse Wonderful,” describing them as its most efficient models to date, in a move aimed at strengthening its position in the intensifying competition with OpenAI and Anthropic.

The announcement coincided with a roughly 4 percent rise in the company’s stock during afternoon trading, as investors awaited results from its massive investments in AI technologies.

The launch of the two models comes as part of Meta’s efforts to accelerate the development of its technical capabilities, following CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s pledge to invest billions of dollars in the field, alongside intensified efforts last year to recruit researchers and specialists, in order to keep pace with the fierce competition in Silicon Valley.

The company clarified that the “Muse Wonder” model will soon be used to power its personal AI assistant, “Muse,” which will initially be available to subscribers. The more advanced “Muse Wonderful” model will be dedicated to subscribers of “Muse Code,” an AI-powered coding tool.

In a blog post, Meta confirmed that it began a comprehensive restructuring of its AI efforts 14 months ago, noting that during this period it has shifted from rebuilding its technical foundations to expanding the scope of its ambitions and capabilities.

The company is betting on the success of its personal assistant “Muse,” launched last month, to generate new revenue streams through paid subscriptions, helping it achieve returns on its substantial AI spending, despite ongoing concerns regarding user data privacy.
