- “Foreign Ministry”: Targeting airports constitutes a direct threat to civilians and air navigation, necessitating a firm international stance
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the ongoing terrorist and criminal attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the latest of which were the targeting of King Khalid International Airport in the capital Riyadh and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam on October 11, 2026. The attack on King Khalid International Airport resulted in the death of one resident and injuries to others, as well as material damage, in a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law.
The Ministry emphasized that persisting in targeting civilian airports and critical infrastructure represents a serious escalation and a direct threat to civilian lives and the safety of air navigation, which necessitates a firm international position to halt these heinous attacks and hold those responsible accountable.
The Ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its full support for all measures it takes to protect its security and stability and safeguard its sovereignty, stressing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The Ministry also expressed Kuwait’s sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the victim’s family, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
