Trump announces immediate ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine to halt attacks on energy facilities

US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that Russia and Ukraine have reached what he described as an “energy truce,” to take effect immediately.

Trump said the two sides had agreed to halt attacks on energy facilities, without providing further details on the scope of the agreement or its implementation mechanism.

As of Trump’s announcement, neither Moscow nor Kyiv had issued official confirmation of the truce, and its nature and detailed terms remained unclear.
