The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the blatant attack launched by the Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, which resulted in casualties and injuries among innocent civilians, including travelers and airport workers, from Saudi nationals and other nationalities, as well as the temporary suspension of operational activities at the airport.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this heinous and cowardly attack constitutes a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and that the repetition of these systematic hostile acts targeting civilian objects and vital infrastructure represents a serious escalation and a direct threat to the safety of air navigation and the security of civilians, necessitating accountability and prosecution of those responsible.
Kuwait reaffirmed its absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, standing by its side and supporting all measures it takes to safeguard its security and stability and protect its citizens and residents on its territory, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom is an inseparable part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
Kuwait also expressed its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people, as well as to the governments and peoples of the countries to which the victims belong, and to their families and relatives, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
It called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and take a firm stance against these repeated attacks, ensuring the protection of civilian objects and civil aviation facilities, preventing their recurrence in the future, and guaranteeing that perpetrators do not escape punishment.
