US Reports: Military Reinforcements to Middle East and 5 Plans to Strike Iran and Houthis

The Wall Street Journal, citing U.S. officials, reported that a U.S. Navy carrier strike group and an expeditionary unit are currently heading to the Middle East, while the Pentagon is considering sending additional air defense equipment and ammunition to its military bases in the region.
The newspaper, quoting a U.S. Navy official, stated that the United States is currently deploying 12 ships in the region to enforce a blockade on Iran and carry out other missions, noting that the new naval vessels will join the aircraft carrier USS George Washington and nine destroyers.

It added that the U.S. military continues to prepare options for launching strikes and conducting military operations against Iran, as part of the preparations under consideration by Washington.
For its part, The New York Times reported that the Pentagon has presented Trump with five plans for major military operations against Iran and the Houthis, including options to target Tehran’s arsenal of drones and missiles.
The newspaper added that the U.S. National Security team, led by Vice President J.D. Vance, discussed plans to carry out a short and intense military campaign against Iran.
Citing U.S. officials, it reported that the military is preparing options to resume the war against Iran, while Trump has not yet made a final decision on executing these operations.
These developments come after Trump announced, in a post on his platform Truth Social, that Washington is holding productive talks with Tehran, emphasizing that the United States will not launch any attack on Iran before the midterm elections.
Trump stressed that the blockade imposed on Iran will remain fully in effect, reiterating his assertion that Tehran will not possess nuclear weapons.
