A massive fire that broke out on Thursday at a shopping center in Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California, caused the collapse of roofs in two buildings. Firefighters were widely mobilized, intensifying their efforts to combat the flames and prevent them from spreading to adjacent structures.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department stated that its units received a report of the fire at approximately 12:04 p.m. local time at a commercial building housing multiple shops on East Hyde Park Boulevard, where thick columns of smoke rose and flames spread to the rooftops.

According to ABC7, the Fire Department confirmed the collapse of roofs in two buildings at the site, prompting crews to adopt defensive positions and fight the fire from the exterior using fire ladders and water hoses.

Fox 11 reported that the response level was raised to Alarm Two at 12:23 p.m., then to Alarm Three at 12:37 p.m., and finally to Alarm Five around 1:30 p.m., as firefighting operations expanded.

Meanwhile, NBC Los Angeles reported that flames began to recede by 1:15 p.m., but thick smoke continued to billow from the damaged buildings as firefighters persisted in spraying water on the burning sites.

Aerial footage broadcast by CBS showed firefighters battling the blaze near a well-known store called La Michoacana.

Authorities have not confirmed any casualties, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The number of affected businesses and the extent of material damages have not yet been clarified.
