Cybercrimes... Between Protecting Society and Freedom of Expression
With the spread of the internet and social media, cybercrimes such as extortion, fraud, account hacking, and the dissemination of private information have emerged, making this an issue that requires legal discussion.
Supporters of stricter penalties argue that they are essential to protect individuals and society, while opponents contend that law enforcement should not restrict freedom of opinion and expression.
Specialized authorities bear responsibility for combating these crimes and enforcing the law, while users are responsible for safeguarding their data and refraining from harming others.
Proposed solutions include raising awareness, strengthening cybersecurity measures, and applying penalties fairly.
I would like to conclude my article by emphasizing the necessity of clarifying the legal framework to define the circumstances under which cybercrimes are criminalized, in order to achieve rehabilitative goals, protect society, and safeguard individual freedoms, within a sound process that ensures security and stability for the country, free from the chaos of harmful pen and media forces that undermine the pillars of societal security.
