7 Companies Compete for 'Street Lighting' Contract
The Central Tenders Board announced on Tuesday the opening of bids for the supply, installation, and replacement of energy-efficient LED floodlights in existing networks across all governorates (Phase II), accepting bids from seven companies.
The bids will be referred to the relevant ministry to prepare the technical recommendations for the bids, enabling the Board to make the award decision to the bid that complies with the specifications and requirements.
This tender is part of a plan implemented by the ministry to fully replace the current sodium-vapor lighting network with energy-saving LED systems, which reduce energy consumption by 50 to 70 percent, are environmentally friendly, and boast a lifespan ten times longer than traditional lighting, thereby saving millions of dinars for the state treasury through energy savings.
