Trump: No Attack on Iran Before US Midterm Elections

“We are holding productive talks with Tehran… and the sanctions will remain fully in place”

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States will not launch any attack on Iran before the midterm elections scheduled for November 3, affirming that Washington is engaged in productive talks with Tehran.

Trump stated in a post on his platform, Truth Social, that the United States is having “productive discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” noting that Iran is facing an extremely dire economic and military situation.

He added that he wants to make it clear to everyone that the United States will not attack Iran at any time before the midterm elections, while simultaneously affirming that the sanctions imposed on Tehran will remain fully in effect.

He pointed out that oil is flowing through the Strait of Hormuz in record volumes, with 22 million barrels passing through it last night alone, none of which originated from or were destined for Iran.

Trump concluded his post by emphasizing that “Iran will not possess a nuclear weapon.”
