During the meeting, the latest developments concerning the addressing of FATF observations were reviewed, alongside follow-up on the implementation of related requirements. The meeting also discussed mechanisms to harmonize national efforts and accelerate progress within specified timelines, reflecting the State of Kuwait’s commitment to meeting international standards and enhancing the efficiency of its anti-money laundering and counter-financing of terrorism framework.
Attendees included the Minister of Justice, Nasser Al-Samit; the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Al-Makhzoomi; the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment and Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry, Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq; the Minister of Finance, Dr. Yaqoob Al-Rufai; the Advisor to the Prime Minister’s Diwan, Sheikh Dr. Basil Hamoud Al-Malik Al-Sabah; the Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority, Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; the Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait, Basil Al-Haroun; and a number of representatives from relevant concerned authorities.
