Minister Al-Mashaan, while chairing a meeting of the committee on the impacts of rains and flash floods, attended by committee members and representatives of relevant authorities to review their preparations for the rainy season, stressed the necessity of continued coordination among these entities and rapid response to any developments during rainy periods.
The meeting reviewed the preparations of participating entities and action plans for the rainy season, alongside the readiness of field teams, equipment, and machinery at various locations.
It also examined climate forecasts for the coming period, which indicate that rainfall amounts expected during October, November, and December may exceed normal averages, necessitating heightened readiness and preparedness among relevant authorities.
Minister Al-Mashaan inspected cleaning works on rainwater drainage inlets and networks, the readiness of pumping stations, and the procedures in place to address sites prone to water accumulation.
