The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the seizure of 25,000 units of “chewing tobacco” during an inspection round conducted by the emergency team of the Capital and Hawalli governorates (shift A) at several grocery stores in the Capital Governorate, as part of ongoing joint campaigns between the Ministry and the Ministry of Interior.
The Ministry clarified that “chewing tobacco” is among the goods prohibited from import, display, marketing, or trade, in accordance with the provisions of Ministerial Decision No. (216) of 2014.
It added that three seizure reports were drafted against the violators, and all necessary legal measures have been taken.
