His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, affirmed that the anniversary of the October victories remains one of the national occasions that unite all Egyptians around a profound meaning: love for the homeland and defense of its land and dignity.

In a telephone interview with “Al-Siyasa,” His Holiness Pope Tawadros II stated that this occasion allows us to proudly recall the heroism and sacrifice offered by the sons of the Egyptian Armed Forces, as well as the patience and steadfastness demonstrated by the Egyptian people until victory was achieved. He emphasized that, for Egyptians, October is not merely a date on the calendar, but a living national memory passed down through generations, because it carries the story of a people who believed in their homeland, an army that fulfilled its duty, and an Arab nation that stood by Egypt at a pivotal historical moment.

He stressed that among the most honorable Arab stances, the position of sisterly Kuwait stands out, having supported Egypt with an authentic stance during the October War, with its sons fighting alongside their Egyptian brothers on the battlefields. Therefore, speaking of October in Egypt inevitably evokes this noble Kuwaiti stance.

Concluding his phone remarks, Pope Tawadros II said, “On this glorious anniversary, we extend our salutes to the heroes of the Egyptian Armed Forces, and we remember the martyrs with utmost reverence. We also extend a special salute to our brothers in Kuwait, both leadership and people, in appreciation of what they contributed to Egypt in October.”
