The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that Abha and King Khalid International Airports were subjected to two attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 6 and 7, which targeted their facilities, resulting in three deaths and 36 injuries, in addition to material damage.
The Authority stated that emergency teams and relevant authorities began responding to the attacks immediately upon their occurrence, in accordance with approved procedures and plans.

It clarified that the attack on Abha International Airport resulted in the deaths of two residents, one Moroccan and one Algerian, and injured 28 people, including Saudi nationals and residents of Bangladeshi and Filipino nationalities, with injuries ranging from minor to severe.
It added that the attack on King Khalid International Airport resulted in the death of one Sudanese resident and injured eight people, including five Saudi nationals, two Egyptian residents, and one Pakistani resident, with injuries ranging from minor to severe.
The Authority noted that all the injured were immediately transferred to hospitals to receive necessary medical care, while the attacks caused some material damage.
It emphasized that it is working, through integrated and continuous coordination with relevant security authorities, to assess the damage and take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of passengers and staff, and to preserve the security and safety of the civil aviation system in the Kingdom.”
