950 Citizens Apply for Imam and Muezzin Positions

Kuwait’s Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Osaimi, affirmed on Wednesday that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs is committed to attracting qualified Kuwaiti nationals for religious positions in mosques.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Minister Al-Osaimi stated that the ministry has worked to facilitate the written examination for Kuwaiti applicants seeking religious roles in mosques, and reviewed the procedures and mechanisms governing the exam.

He added that approximately 950 citizens applied to take the test, with 450 candidates applying for the position of imam and 500 for the position of muezzin.

He noted that these examinations are part of the ministry’s efforts to recruit qualified national talent and select them in accordance with established regulations and standards, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality of work and religious services provided in mosques across the State of Kuwait.
