Trump: We Must 'End the Matter' with Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump said that the United States must “end the matter” with Iran, noting that the issue concerns the method Washington chooses to achieve that, whether “the nice way or the unpleasant way.”

Speaking at the Sparrows Point shipyard in Maryland, Trump said, “We have to end it, and the only question is how we want to do it: the nice way or the unpleasant way,” adding, “You will know very soon.”

Trump affirmed that the United States is achieving good results in its confrontation with Iran, as his administration continues to pressure Tehran over its nuclear program and the ongoing hostilities between the two sides.

Trump had previously stated that the war with Iran was “almost over” and would end soon “one way or another.”

In the latest U.S. administration stance on the conditions for ending the war, Vice President J.D. Vance said in an interview with Reuters that Washington wants to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon and ensure it cannot rebuild its enrichment facilities and nuclear capabilities.

Vance stressed that the United States would not be satisfied with Iranian assurances alone, but would demand concrete steps, stating that Washington needs to “exchange actions for actions,” while reiterating its readiness to talk with Iranian parties willing to reach an agreement.
