Acting Undersecretary of 'Social Affairs': Kuwait Committed to Strengthening Gulf Cooperation and Developing Social Services
Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, acting, Faisal Al-Kandari, represented Kuwait today, Tuesday, in the 12th meeting of the committee of deputy ministers of social and development affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, via video conferencing.
The ministry stated in a press release that the meeting discussed several common Gulf social files, most notably the quality of life for the elderly, issues concerning persons with disabilities, children’s rights, women’s empowerment, and social protection, alongside follow-up on the GCC Action Plan for 2026–2030.

It added that the meeting also examined efforts to enhance cooperation and coordination among GCC member states, and to exchange expertise in social fields, in addition to a number of initiatives and proposals aimed at developing the social care system and supporting beneficiary groups, in preparation for their approval by the ministers of social and development affairs at the meeting scheduled for next Thursday in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
According to the statement, Al-Kandari reaffirmed Kuwait’s support for joint Gulf efforts and its commitment to continuing coordination, which contributes to the development of social services and enhancing the quality of life for citizens of GCC member states.
