The Yemeni Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that approximately 100 members of the Houthi militia were killed and 150 others were injured during offensive operations carried out by the armed forces as part of the "Yemen Dawn" operation across several fronts in Taiz Governorate, which has been witnessing fierce battles with the Houthi militia.
The media center for the Taiz Military Axis, affiliated with the ministry, stated in a briefing on field developments over the past 24 hours that the forces conducted five offensive operations on the fronts of Al-Arbaeen to the north of the city, Al-Aqrud to the south, Al-Ayn and Jabal Habashi to the west, and the Al-Bireen area on the outskirts of Al-Kadha in the southern countryside.
It clarified that the forces shot down five drones belonging to the militia during the operations, and destroyed and damaged six vehicles and a tank.
The armed forces repelled militia elements from several positions on the Al-Aqrud front south of the city, following an attack launched in the afternoon today. They destroyed a tank and a vehicle, captured a crew, and inflicted casualties among the militia members, with some killed and others wounded.
It was noted that government forces launched a swift attack on Houthi militia positions on the Al-Ayn front in the Jabal Habashi district, inflicting casualties and material losses. Meanwhile, militia gatherings and equipment in the Al-Bireen area on the Al-Kadha front were targeted, resulting in the burning of a crew, the death of several militia members, and the capture of others.
It was mentioned that Taiz Axis forces carried out offensive operations in several contact areas on the Jabal Habashi fronts, achieving advances in some positions amid the flight of several militia members, while military operations continue.
It was added that the rest of the axis fronts witnessed intermittent clashes and artillery shelling targeting militia gatherings, vehicles, and weapons, including gatherings in Farzat Sanaa east of the city, a crew in Al-Taba Al-Sawda on the Al-Dabab front to the west, and another crew on the western front, in addition to targeting a tank northeast of the city.
