Yemeni Government Forces Announce Control of Bab al-Mandab and Dhobab Airport... and Launch of 'Yemen Dawn' Operation

- 1,122 targeting operations carried out against Houthi militias across various governorates

Yemeni government forces announced the start of a wide-scale military operation codenamed "Yemen's Dawn" to target Houthi capabilities, while a spokesperson for the government forces reported the execution of an envelopment maneuver to secure the Bab al-Mandab strait.

The spokesperson stated that "Giants" and "Homeland Shield" forces managed to take control of Bab al-Mandab and Dhobab Airport, while military sources indicated that Houthi elements in the Mayun Island and Bab al-Mandab area are negotiating their surrender to government forces.

For his part, Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, announced the launch of the "Yemen's Dawn" operation to restore state institutions, "liberate the capital Sana'a, and end the coup staged by the terrorist Houthi militias."

He added in a post on the X platform: "Yemen will move toward a new dawn of freedom, peace, and stability through the will of our people, the bravery of our armed forces and all military formations, and the support of our brothers and friends."

Earlier, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Monday the execution of 1,122 precise targeting operations against sites, movements, and military capabilities belonging to Houthi militias on several battlefronts across various Yemeni governorates.

Majid al-Nazili, the official spokesperson for the Armed Forces, stated in a press release that the targeting operations included artillery positions, rocket launchers, defensive fortifications, approach routes, supply and reinforcement lines, combat concentrations, governing bodies, and command and control centers affiliated with the militias.

He clarified that the operations, which covered axes and fronts in Saada, Al-Jawf, Taiz, and the Coast, varied between warplanes, drones, artillery, missiles, rocket launchers, and snipers.

He noted that the field results of the targeting operations resulted in the killing of 1,747 militia elements and the destruction or damage of 364 military vehicles, equipment, and transport and supply means.

He affirmed that the Armed Forces continue to carry out their duties steadily and effectively in the battle for liberation and the restoration of state territories and institutions, asserting national sovereignty, and fulfilling assigned missions.

In the same context, the state-owned Yemeni News Agency (Saba) quoted a government military source as saying that the Armed Forces have regained the initiative in several combat axes in Taiz governorate, thwarting infiltration attempts and attacks launched by Houthi militias over the past hours.

It noted that clashes resulted in hundreds of killed and wounded among the militia ranks due to ambushes, sniper fire, drones, and direct skirmishes, coinciding with air strikes targeting Houthi military sites, reinforcements, and movements on several fronts.

Sources stated that the Armed Forces have doubled their combat readiness across various fronts as part of broader military plans to reclaim the remaining territories of the country.

The Yemeni Armed Forces had announced on Sunday the start of the Liberation Battle and the completion of restoring state institutions, ending the Houthi coup, alleviating the suffering of the people, and re-establishing a state of order, constitution, and law.
