- The teacher’s role extends beyond imparting knowledge to shaping awareness, instilling values, and honing future leaders

Education Minister Sayed Jalal Al-Tabatabaee said on Monday that the teacher’s role is not limited to transferring knowledge, but extends to building character, shaping awareness, instilling values, awakening ambition, and refining future leaders.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, Minister Al-Tabatabaee noted that in a world where knowledge accelerates and artificial intelligence technologies evolve, the teacher retains an irreplaceable human role. Teachers are the ones who believe in their students’ capabilities, guide their thinking, strengthen their self-confidence, and instill in them a sense of belonging and responsibility.

Congratulating teachers on this occasion, the minister said: “I convey to you my deepest appreciation and pride, and I honor in you a noble mission that has had and will continue to have the greatest impact on building character and advancing nations.”

He added that this day “is not merely an occasion to celebrate teachers, but a moment of gratitude and appreciation for those who have made their knowledge and dedication a mission, who view every student as a trust, and who see every success achieved by their students as an extension of their own impact and mission.”

He continued: “A teacher’s impact is not measured solely by what they provide within the classroom, but by what remains in their students’ lives years later, and in every achievement their students attain for their country. Guided by this belief, we place teacher empowerment and development at the core of our education reform journey, and we regard teachers as genuine partners in driving change and building Kuwait’s future.”

On this cherished occasion, he called on Kuwaiti male and female teachers to continue their dedication with resolve and sincerity, and to keep their love for Kuwait and sense of belonging as motivation for further contribution and achievement, inspired by the wisdom of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, and under the strong support and attention that our political leadership continues to afford education and human development.

The Education Minister expressed his gratitude “to every teacher and female teacher” for their contributions, saying: “Thank you for every positive influence you sow in our children’s hearts, for every mind you enlighten, for every ambition you awaken, and for every generation you help prepare to carry the trust of this nation.”

He added that “Kuwait deserves the best from all of us, and your mission will remain a pillar of its progress, your impact present in its generations, and your dedication extending into its future. May God protect Kuwait, its leadership, and its people, and may He guide us all in serving and elevating it. May Kuwait’s teachers, male and female, always be a source of pride and honor.”
