The official spokesperson for the Coalition Forces for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that the terrorist Houthi militia continues its attacks and practices against the Yemeni people, including internal blockades, forced displacement of citizens from their cities and villages, starvation, plundering of their resources and diverting them to what it calls the war effort, as well as insulting tribal elders and members, tearing the social fabric of Yemeni society, terrorizing women, and recruiting children.
Al-Maliki added that the terrorist Houthi militia’s attacks on the Kingdom, attempts to target the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, the deliberate and systematic targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure in several cities in the Kingdom, as well as attempts to target Saudi ships in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, necessitate the continuation of necessary and essential measures to deter their hostile actions, with the aim of protecting the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty, as well as regional and international security.
He affirmed the Kingdom’s inherent right to defend its sovereignty and protect its security, and to take operational measures to deter the terrorist Houthi militia and halt its violations, based on the Kingdom’s national responsibility toward the Two Holy Mosques, its citizens, its national assets, and those residing on its territory.
Al-Maliki reiterated the commitment to stand with Yemen and its people until the state and its institutions are restored, the terrorist Houthi militia is eliminated, and its threat to freedom of maritime navigation in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait is ended. He considered this threat to be a undermining of regional and international security, global trade, the lifeline of the global economy, and a direct impact on regional and international security and the national interests of all countries.
