Conspiracy Theory
We hear from some, insistently, that they do not believe in conspiracy theories. Yet, whenever one of them speaks or writes about this issue, or mentions a matter that turns out to be the result of a conspiracy, they quickly dismiss the idea, acting as if they are the smart ones who perceive things clearly, while others’ analyses and insights are shrouded in obscurity.
For the record, Allah, the Exalted, willed this wisdom to make clear to His servants that this life is a test. This requires a creation endowed with intellect to distinguish between truth and falsehood, and with the capacity to choose. It also requires another creation that fabricates falsehood, so that humans fall into the falsehood they have embraced, due to their arrogance and vanity—namely, the accursed Satan. Human life on earth was established for the sake of good confronting falsehood, just as good and evil are like night and day; whoever denies the night must necessarily be ignorant of the day.
The Book of Allah is eternal, enduring, and a proof until the Day of Resurrection. In it, Allah clearly states the words of Iblis (Satan) and his request to Allah after Allah had declared him disbelieving and cast him out of His mercy. Allah explained to Adam what Iblis said and what he requested: “He said, ‘Descend from it [Paradise], for it is not fitting for you to be arrogant therein.’” Allah also clarified what Iblis said and his demand: “He said, ‘Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected.’ He said, ‘Indeed, you are among those reprieved.’” Why did he make this request?

Allah clarified this by saying: “He said, ‘Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path.’” That is, he would block the path of goodness with all his capabilities, organizations, and conspiracies, in order to obstruct the straight path for Adam and his descendants, so that they would join him in the Fire of Hell out of malice and envy.
Allah warned Adam and his descendants, saying: “Do not follow the footsteps of Satan,” which refers to gradualism, the art of temptation, evasion, deception, and long-term cumulative planning to achieve the goal, step by step, without provoking direct confrontation.
Allah also says, clarifying the nature of the people of falsehood, their aim in life, and their general objective: “And never will the Jews or the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion.” Scholars of religion state that the word “until” here indicates purpose, followed by the desired aim and objective in contrast.
Allah also says, clarifying their desires and aspirations, stating their mission in life: “They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved, so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies.” I believe this is part of what Allah has made clear to us in His Book, with consistent evil conspiracies against religion and monotheism.
I conclude with a beautiful statement by Dr. Khaled Al-Qahtani, may Allah protect him: “Whoever does not believe in conspiracy theories is part of them, whether they know it or not.”
