The Central Tenders Board has approved the request by the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy to disqualify one company and ban it from participating in tenders for two years, in accordance with Article 85 of Public Tenders Law No. 49 of 2016. It also approved the confiscation of the initial performance bonds of two companies for failing to submit their final performance bonds for two tenders, pursuant to Article 66 of the Public Tenders Law.

These measures taken by the Ministry and the Board are part of the broader efforts by government entities to enforce the law against companies that violate contractual requirements previously agreed upon by both parties, particularly given that the contracts in question relate to developmental projects aimed at ensuring the full readiness of the electricity and water networks to face challenges.

Meanwhile, Al-Siyasa learned that the Ministry of Electricity is awaiting approval from the Court of Audit to award five contracts with a total cost of approximately 11.851 million dinars for the modernization and development of the electricity and water networks, enhancing their operational efficiency. The Ministry referred the four contracts to the Court at different times to apply pre-contractual oversight, auditing, and review procedures, and to issue an opinion of approval in the absence of any observations requiring the Ministry’s response.
