Confirming what “Al-Siyasa” published on August 21 under the headline “The Strategic Plan for Ports Under the Audit Court’s Supervision,” the Ports Authority has obtained conditional approval from the Audit Court to contract for the implementation of a tender to provide consulting services and prepare the Authority’s strategic plan, with a total value of 2.537 million dinars.
The Authority had previously received approval from the Board of Directors of the Central Tenders Committee to award the contract to one of the compliant bids and, in turn, referred the tender to the Audit Court on August 31 to apply pre-contractual control procedures, auditing, and review, and to issue approval for contracting in accordance with applicable regulations and laws.

It is worth noting that the Authority aims, through this tender, to achieve several objectives, including institutional transformation toward a flexible and effective system capable of responding to future challenges, governing operations and procedures, activating accountability and transparency systems, as well as enhancing operational efficiency and revenues. This will be achieved by developing services and activities within the ports and logistics services, improving port infrastructure and technology to keep pace with global best practices, and building the capacities of national cadres and preparing middle management to qualify them for future senior positions.
