The Director of the Meteorology Department, Essam Al-Ali, said on Saturday that the country is currently experiencing humid weather with a chance of scattered, occasionally thunderous light rain, and fog is likely to form in the evening. He predicted that these conditions would persist until Sunday morning.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Ali explained that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country is being affected by an extension of a humid low-pressure system, accompanied by a low-pressure system in the upper atmospheric layers. This combination leads to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds, accompanied by scattered light rain that may occasionally be thunderous.
He added that winds will be southeasterly to variable, light to moderate in speed, with a chance of fog forming in the evening and early morning, reducing visibility to less than 1,000 meters in some areas until Sunday morning.
