The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced on Friday that rumors regarding the resumption of transit operations at Kuwait International Airport are “inaccurate,” reaffirming that the “decision to halt transit operations remains in effect until further notice.”

The official spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority, Abdullah Al-Rajhi, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the Authority “has not coordinated with Jazeera Airways or any other airlines regarding the resumption or opening of transit operations,” clarifying that “administrative measures have been taken against the company for initiating and announcing transit flights without obtaining prior approval from the Authority.”

He further explained that the decisions and directives issued concerning the suspension of transit operations “remain in effect since the beginning of the malicious attacks in the region,” emphasizing that these measures were taken in light of the Authority’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of passenger, aircraft, and airport security amid the current events, developments, and security conditions in the region.

Al-Rajhi noted that “the administrative actions taken against Jazeera Airways were in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, due to its violation of the approved decisions, directives, and controls regarding transit operations.”

He added that any change to the decision halting transit operations or allowing their resumption will be officially announced by the Authority through approved channels.

He stated that all the Authority’s decisions and procedures are based on its regulatory responsibilities and its commitment to ensuring the security and safety of passengers and civil aviation, in line with the requirements of the current circumstances and security situation in the region.
