“U.S. Treasury” imposes new sanctions to economically isolate Tehran

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran has agreed not to possess nuclear weapons, as Washington continues to exert pressure on Tehran amid the imposition of new U.S. sanctions related to Iran.

Trump added that the Iran issue could harm the upcoming U.S. midterm elections, noting that the volume of oil currently passing through the Strait of Hormuz is greater than it was before the war.

In a related development, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced new sanctions related to Iran, targeting entities in the railway and automotive sectors, as part of Washington’s efforts to increase economic pressure on Tehran and isolate it economically.
