The General Customs Administration has renewed its call for travelers to strictly comply with the requirement to declare funds when traveling with cash or negotiable financial instruments payable to bearer, if their value equals or exceeds 3,000 Kuwaiti dinars, or the equivalent in foreign currencies.
In an awareness post on X, the Administration clarified that any person entering or leaving Kuwait who possesses cash or negotiable financial instruments payable to bearer valued at 3,000 Kuwaiti dinars or more must declare the value of such currency or financial instruments to the General Customs Administration.
It emphasized that failure to declare exposes the violator to legal accountability, in accordance with Law No. (106) of 2013 and Minister of Finance Decision No. (37) of 2013.
The Administration noted that customs declarations can be submitted electronically through the General Customs Administration’s website via its e-services, or through the “Sahel” app by selecting the “Electronic Declaration of Funds” service under the General Customs Administration’s services.
