Two earthquakes measuring over 5.0 magnitude struck off the coasts of Costa Rica and the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan within hours, according to data from seismic monitoring centers.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that a 5.7-magnitude earthquake hit off the coast of Costa Rica on Wednesday at a depth of 15 kilometers.
In Afghanistan, an earthquake struck the Hindu Kush region early Thursday morning, with the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) estimating its magnitude at 5.44.
