Drugs and Our Hands

There is no doubt that the current developments in the drug trade require substantial efforts and high-level meetings among government entities. Such initiatives will never succeed with a single hand; rather, they demand the involvement of many hands and numerous agencies to combat this scourge, which has devastated our youth. The monumental efforts currently being undertaken by the Ministry of Interior, along with the relentless work of its personnel, demonstrate their capability to fight and pursue these criminals.

Despite the enactment of new laws and deterrent penalties, including the death penalty, these individuals still find fertile ground to spread their poison, undeterred by any measures.

The drug industry today is undergoing significant development, particularly in its transportation and distribution, as drugs have become lightweight and easily accessible. For instance, in one recent operation by the Ministry of Interior, the seized quantity of narcotics consisted of A4-sized paper. This new form of drug in the illicit market indicates that its producers are continuously evolving, employing relentless thinking to facilitate smuggling, ease of transport, and the acquisition of money through the easiest means. Furthermore, another Ministry of Interior operation revealed the presence of modern machinery for manufacturing and packaging pills. This development necessitates the deployment of large, powerful, and advanced equipment to counter drug production.

All government entities must be fully aware of the significant challenges we face today. Some countries sponsor the sale and dissemination of drugs in the Gulf states and the wider Arab world. The most crucial agency in our homeland in repelling this attack is the Customs Administration. Its role is immense, as it serves as the primary gateway for our country. Through it, countless blessings and resources enter our nation, making it the main artery that sustains the country. Vigilance is absolutely essential, with no tolerance or negligence. Their efforts are well known, as they have uncovered numerous smuggling operations, and may God help them bear this trust.

We must also not forget the Coast Guard, whose efforts in safeguarding our extensive maritime borders are vital, as these borders represent the most important conduit for drug traffickers. When many hands join forces against the enemy, the enemy is defeated, humiliated, and broken.

Today, especially in light of these developments, every citizen must realize that if this scourge penetrates deeply into our country, it will inevitably reach our sons and daughters.

Every citizen must report any suspicious activity they observe or suspect. A small piece of information may save an entire generation and protect a nation that many aspire to be part of its citizenry. May God protect Kuwait and its people from all harm.
