'Supreme Council of the Judiciary' Approves Nomination of Heads of the Three Courts and Al-Sane as Attorney General
The Supreme Council of the Judiciary expressed its approval of the nomination and appointment of the heads of the three courts, following a request from Justice Minister and Advisor Nasser Al-Sumait, in accordance with the provisions of the latest law on the organization of the judiciary.
The Council approved the appointment of Advisor Hani Al-Humaidan as President of the Court of Cassation and President of the Council of the Judiciary, with Advisor Darar Al-Waqian as his deputy; Advisor Tariq Al-Jaber as President of the Court of Appeal, with Advisor Abdulmohsen Al-Tabtabaei as his deputy; and Advisor Abdullah Al-Qasimi as President of the Criminal Court.

A separate decision will be issued for the appointment of the heads of the three courts, while Advisor Saud Yousef Al-Sana will be appointed as Attorney General after his statutory promotion is approved, with a separate decision to be issued regarding him.
Advisor Hani Al-Humaidan possesses extensive judicial and administrative experience, having previously held a position in the Judicial Inspection Department. He also managed the Kuwait Institute for Judicial Studies, presided over the felony divisions in the Criminal Court and the Court of Appeal, and served as President of the Ministers’ Court for three consecutive years.
As for Advisor Saud Yousef Al-Sana, he previously served as President of the Public Funds Prosecution. He also served as a member of the Standing Investigation Committee at the Ministers’ Court for three years, a member of the Technical Office at the Institute for Judicial Studies, and Deputy Director of the Institute, in addition to his membership in the Second Criminal Division of the Court of Appeal.
Al-Sana also chaired the committee for reviewing and amending the Kuwaiti Penal Code, which was formed by Justice Minister and Advisor Nasser Al-Sumait last year.
