A firm Kuwaiti stance and a clear diplomatic message
The statement delivered by His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, representing His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, before the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, reaffirmed Kuwait’s steadfast position in supporting peace and dialogue, and upholding international law.
The statement reflected Kuwait’s commitment to its active role in supporting joint international efforts, its belief in the importance of the United Nations in settling disputes through peaceful means, and in enhancing security, stability, and development. It also called for reform of the international organization and the Security Council. Furthermore, it underscored Kuwait’s continued provision of humanitarian aid free from discrimination or politicization, and addressed Kuwait’s dedication to safeguarding its rights and interests in accordance with international law, alongside its steadfast support for Arab causes, foremost among them the Palestinian issue, and its backing of solutions grounded in international legitimacy. The statement also highlighted the concerns of the Middle East region, marked by crises and tensions, including Iranian aggression against Gulf Cooperation Council states, particularly Kuwait, sending a clear message affirming the necessity of respecting state sovereignty, rejecting interference in the internal affairs of states, and halting such aggressions.
His Highness the Crown Prince’s address embodied his political and diplomatic wisdom and experience, presenting Kuwait’s position comprehensively and offering the state’s transparent vision on international and regional issues, enabling the international community to fulfill its role in this regard.
Despite its small size, Kuwait maintains a firm stance and a diplomatic voice grounded in peace, dialogue, respect for state sovereignty, and international law.
