'US Treasury' imposes sanctions on 10 individuals and entities that facilitated the purchase of weapons and components for the Iranian Ministry of Defense

The U.S. Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions on Tuesday on 10 individuals and entities from Iran, Hong Kong, and Pakistan, alleging that they facilitated Iran’s military supply chain and arms procurement operations for the Ministry of Defense and support of the Iranian Armed Forces.

According to the Associated Press, the sanctions are part of a U.S. campaign targeting financial and supply networks linked to Iran’s military sector, aiming to hinder Tehran’s ability to acquire weapons and components for its defense ministry.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that the United States would continue to expose and isolate parties aiding Iran, reaffirming the ongoing targeting of networks supporting Iran’s military procurement operations.
