State Security Crimes Court Sentences Al-Dabous, Al-Husseini, and Al-Muharib to 5 Years

- Issued sentences of imprisonment, suspension of sentencing, and rulings of lack of jurisdiction against citizens and a lawyer

The State Security and Terrorism Crimes Criminal Court, presided over by Advisor Nasser Al-Badr and with the membership of Advisors Omar Al-Mulifi, Abdullah Al-Falah, and Salem Al-Zaid, issued a number of rulings in state security cases, ranging from imprisonment to acquittal and lack of jurisdiction.

The court sentenced Talal Al-Dabous to five years’ imprisonment with hard labor and immediate execution for the offense of insulting the Amir’s dignity via social media platforms.

In a case involving the dissemination of false news through social media, the court sentenced Lulwa Al-Husseini and Mansour Al-Muharraq to five years’ imprisonment with hard labor and immediate execution, and ordered the confiscation of the video in question, which had been posted on social media.

The court also ruled that it lacked jurisdiction to hear the lawsuit filed against Mahmoud Al-Filakawi.

In a case involving a lawyer, the court acquitted him of the second charge, suspended sentencing, and ordered him to provide a bail of 5,000 Kuwaiti dinars for good behavior and conduct for a period of two years.

The court also sentenced a citizen to three years’ imprisonment with hard labor and immediate execution for the offense of inciting sectarian strife.

In another case concerning the insult of the Amir’s dignity, the court sentenced one citizen to two years’ imprisonment with hard labor and immediate execution, and another to five years’ imprisonment with hard labor and immediate execution.
