Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Ahmed Al-Wahayb, accompanied by a delegation, reviewed Turkey’s experience in developing its security and penal systems, as part of efforts to strengthen security cooperation and exchange expertise between Kuwait and Turkey.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that the visit was carried out in accordance with directives from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Youssef Al-Saud Al-Sabah, to enhance security cooperation and exchange expertise with the friendly Republic of Turkey.
It was clarified that Al-Wahayb and his delegation visited the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Centers under the Turkish Ministry of Justice, where they reviewed the latest systems and technologies used to develop operational frameworks and improve operational and security efficiency. They were received by Director General Cibali Yilmaz and several officials.
The visit also included the Electronic Monitoring Center, training centers, and the Sincan Complex. The delegation observed the healthcare system and medical services, the trial proceedings mechanism, courtrooms, as well as vocational and professional training workshops.
The Deputy Minister also reviewed the rehabilitation and training programs designed for inmates, which encompass professional and behavioral aspects aimed at developing their skills and enhancing their capabilities, thereby facilitating their positive reintegration into society after serving their sentences, and reinforcing the approach of rehabilitation and reform alongside security measures.
